For over 15 years, Paul Lucas Productions has brought innovative and challenging work to international stages. Performers and productions he has represented include Taylor Mac; Miss Coco Peru; Die Roten Punkte; Woody Sez: The Words, Music, and Spirit of Woody Guthrie, and many more.
Touring
Although based in New York City, our productions have toured to over 100 theatres and festivals in the United States and internationally, including Edinburgh, London, Manchester, Brighton, Dublin, Cork, Belfast, Berlin, Stockholm, Recklinghausen, Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Adelaide, Darwin, Auckland, and Mumbai.
Awards
Our attractions have been the recipients of several NEA Grants, a Guggenheim, two MacArthur Genius Grants, Fringe First, Herald Angel , and Amnesty International Freedom of Expression Awards (Edinburgh), two Helen Hayes Awards (Washington, DC), a Lucille Lortel Award (New York City), and more than a dozen other awards in the US and abroad.
Trans Scripts
Part I: The Women
This 90 minute play explores the real lives and experiences of seven transgender women (male to female), as told in their own words.
Based on material assembled from more than 75 interviews, conducted with people from around the world who identify as transgender, the play’s characters range in age, ethnicity, socio-economic status, sexual orientation, educational level, and age at transition. These women’s stories are honest, funny, moving, insightful and inspiring.
But most of all, they are human, shedding light not on our differences, but on what all people share, regardless of gender identity, sexual orientation or physical sex.
